First lady Michelle Obama – after speaking about the importance of contraception and that “women can make our own decisions about our bodies” – proclaimed to an Ohio crowd that, “Every single child in this country is worthy.”

“We want to give all our children opportunities worthy of their promise – because all of our kids are worthy,” Michelle Obama said. “Every single child in this country is worthy. We want our children to have that sense of limitless possibility; the belief that here in America, the greatest country on the planet, there is always something better out there if you’re willing to work for it.”

The first lady talked about the HHS mandate at a rally Monday in Cleveland, Ohio. Both her husband President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are fiercely competing for the battleground state’s electoral votes.
